Bodrum is one of the most famous holiday resorts in Turkey. It is also known as Little Istanbul by the Turkish people. So many Turkish celebrities, business people and professionals are buying their dream homes in Bodrum.
Including the centre of Bodrum, this peninsula has 10 main districts. These are Golkoy, Turkbuku, Gundogan, Yalikavak, Gumusluk, Turgutreis, Akyarlar, Bitez, Gumbet and Bodrum Town Centre.
Although we say Bodrum Town Centre, this town is bigger than many cities in Turkey. In recent times, Bodrum’s population has increased by more than twice its previous population due to holiday home owners from other parts of Turkey wishing to relocate to more beautiful surroundings. According to the Turkish news the current population is around 800,000 as of March 2021.
Most popular locations in Bodrum
We have numbers of blogs about Bodrum and you can find more detailed information in our blogs section. We will try to make a brief information page here.
Yalikavak is the place to find luxury homes, restaurants, marina and peace & tranquillity. If you are looking for a villa by the sea, or a house, apartments with sea views, then this place is a good option for you.
Turkbuku is a quiet holiday resort with numbers of unique mansions and villas. You may not be able to find many apartment projects here and it is also a very popular investment place in Bodrum. Mainly Turkish owners are living in or visiting Turkbuku.
It is newly opened for construction. You can still buy a property here for a reasonable price and access the beaches and shops. Property prices are more reasonable in Golkoy compared to other districts.
If you are looking for a Turkish style villa surrounded by the mountains then Gundogan might be a good option. This district is also very popular for Turkish Citizens.
Perhaps one of the most characteristic districts in Bodrum. It used to be a small fishing village until the late 1990s. You would be able to find many newly completed apartments and villas with direct access to their own beaches. It is also possible to find a reasonably priced villa or apartment in Gumusluk if you have a fixed budget. We would also recommend you to visit the village centre and the beach front especially in the evening hours.
